Afterwords

I heard a lot about the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, and I figured I can’t call myself a real Vampire fan without reading it. I enjoyed the book, but it was nothing mind blowing, and frankly, it felt like a lot of things I read before and I had a lot of issues with the romance in it.While reading Dark Lover, I had a nagging sense of déjà vu. Some of the parts felt real familiar, like I've read them somewhere before. Basically, a lot of it reminded me of books I’ve read before, like Midnight Breed for example, though I think chronologically, Dark Lover has been released first.As for the characters…I liked Warth. I loved being in his head, and seeing how his thoughts and what he said conflicted. He sometimes pissed me off with what he did (such as with what he said to Thor!), but he felt remorse almost instantly. He was a sad person, full of self doubt and self hatred, while truly being a caring and warm person.What I really didn’t like was the complete personality change after he realized he loved Beth. I mean, up to that point he had a good heart – but could never show it because of his issues, and then *poof* he can suddenly express himself perfectly and isn’t afraid to show his emotions.
